Dock Strip

dockstrip-h00026-smFor boaters with runabouts and daycruisers who aren't able to hang enough fenders on the side of your boat, you can secure vinyl strips to your dock edge to protect your hull from the edge of the dock.

These products are available in many, many shapes and configurations.

The best one we have found is a "P" shaped extrusion that screws to the top of the dock and to the vertical edge of the dock and the loop of the "P" protrudes slightly above the dock surface to protect the hull.

They are manufactured of vinyl with fungaside and UV protectant.

Give your dock the finishing touch when you install the "P" strip using joiners and end pieces. To determine if you need a left or right hand, stand on the dock looking down at the water. Joiners and ends give the strip a continuous look, but aren't necessary.

Dimensions

The vinyl "P" extrusion measures 3 ¾” high x 2 3’4” wide. Each strip is 8’ long.

Installation

The manufacturer recommends you secure it to a wooden dock with 1" #8 screws using #10 cup washers--not included.

The information you have given me is exactly the kind of thing I need. That 'stand backwards' trick is priceless by itself! I truly appreciate the information. I can't wait to get out on the water and work on it. I'm sure it'll make an amazing difference.

That one little tidbit, though I've not even tried it out yet, will undoubtedly save me lots of aggravation, lots of discomfort, and lead to a far safer, more controlled, more predictable, and more successful set of docking procedures. The rest of the information you've given me is gravy.

Again, I can't thank you enough for taking the time to help me.
