The marine industry needs old boat brochure information and Doug and Brenda Dawson have devoted much of their lifetimes to amassing Canada's largest collection.
It began with the former Dawson's Marina in Keswick, Ontario where the Dawson family operated a marina business that had roots all the way back to the late 1800's.
Realizing the value of the resource they had, they began collecting 1950's brochures in earnest and Doug and his wife Brenda have been working at it ever since, right up to the 2012 model year.
Dealers – Have you ever taken a trade with no decent picture or literature available?
Brokers – Have you ever taken a listing and the vendor's pictures are all dark and cluttered?
Surveyors – Have you ever needed manufacturer's specs for a boat you are surveying?
Dawsons Old Boat Brochure library is the resource that can supply scanned copies of 1000's of brochures from the 50's to current.
As soon as you take a trade or listing, you need clean pictures and complete specs for your website and printed handouts.
Go to www.OldBoatBrochures.com to see what brochures they have. The brands are listed alphabetically with dates beside each one, showing what years of brochures are in the library.
Scanning individual models is $25 each. If you are interested in a volume deal, give Doug a call. For those offices that are doing some housecleaning, don't throw out your old brochures—send them to Dawson's library instead.
