Dock Bumper – Half Round
When you are docking in the same seasonal slip time after time, you may wish to dock “fenderless”. To accomplish this, you can attach these Half Round Dock Bumpers to the vertical surface of your dock. This method allows you to leave your boat fenders stored aboard without the necessity of putting them away each time you go out and rehanging on each return.
Also, Dock Bumpers allow family members to learn how to dock and undock without damaging your boat because they don’t ride up onto the dock surface like many fenders that aren’t hung properly.
The Half Round Dock Bumpers can be screwed to the vertical surface of your dock either horizontally or vertically depending on your dock height. The aft one should be mounted so that your transom corner sits against it. The second and third dock bumper can be mounted roughly 5′ apart depending on your boat length and docking ability.

Dock Bumper – Three Quarter Round
The Three Quarter Round Dock Bumper is ideal for low floating docks where we have all run into the situation on larger cruisers, where our boat fenders pop up onto the dock surface leaving our boats unprotected resulting in damage to the gelcoat.
As you can see by the picture, the Three Quarter Round Bumper wraps around the dock edge and is attached with screws to both the dock top and the dock side.
The aft Bumper should be mounted so that your transom corner sits against it. Position it far enough forward that when you step off your swim platform, you don’t step onto the Dock Bumper. The second Bumper can be mounted 4′ to 5′ ahead of the first one making sure that it is clear of your step-off position from the side deck. The third dock bumper can be mounted roughly 5′ further forward depending on your boat length and docking ability. Dock Bumpers should not be used as a dock step. Their curved surface is slippery. They should be positioned so that you are stepping onto the dock surface.

The Dock Bumper exterior is a sturdy construction made from rotomoulded PVC that is UV-ray protected.
I installed the dock bumper in front of our dock. It’s made of sturdy PVC, but it’s flexible enough that boats can hit it without damaging the hull. I opted for pre-drilled holes every 6″ on the flange section just for ease of installation as none were provided. I had to re-size the length and did it with a hacksaw with no problems. What subject?
