44 degrees celcius (115 degrees F) greeted us when we stepped out of the office to our deck for lunch this afternoon.
“This is crazy” we thought. “This is summer weather”.
It didn’t take us long to make the decision to take our work to the boat for the afternoon, where the offshore breeze would cool us down. We could do this, because we are fortunate to have set up everything on our laptop so we can work from anywhere.
But, you’ll never guess what we found, when we arrived at the boat.
When we opened the canvas and stepped inside the boat thermometer read 47° C (118° F). Doug quickly removed the rest of the canvas, so the strong offshore breeze would blow through, and prepared pina colada slushies.
No one else was in the harbour, and we couldn’t help but think of this great opportunity for boaters to practice their boat handling and docking skills without an audience. They could practice for hours and really improve their skills with no one watching.
Investing in our Docking/Handling e-Lesson and spending the quiet fall boating hours practising, they could be pros before winter sets in.
Just like riding a bicycle, you never forget.
So, next spring they would have to be prepared to accept all the compliments on their new Boat Docking Ability.
